Computer Virus Protection History
Computer viruses was almost unknown until a few years ago when experts found that there was a new type of virus known as the Michelangelo Virus that has spread widely, was dangerous and destructive. This was way back in the year 1992, and until then viruses was low key with occasional appearance. |
People made use of anti-virus protection even at the onset of viruses however; whenever a lock is devised, invariably someone would find a way to decipher it and gain access. This is how it happens even in the cases of computer virus protection programs. Some how or the other protection programs are broken into and though it is wise to install a protection for the viruses, there is no guarantee that things will be fool-proof.
In the millennium, anti-viruses was termed as the best shield to protect the computer and it was a nice way of telling people to surf the web in the safest manner and not to download stuff at sites that looked suspicious. In 2001, it was found that not just installing virus protection would help but also the measures that were taken to secure the computer by updating the software, how the protection program was working effectively and whether it was distributed evenly among the network.
In the year 2002, AT&T of New Jersey made an announcement that its Worldnet Services were fortified with one of the most powerful anti-virus protection programs and even added that they had developed a newer e-mail feature that could be user-friendly which could make other consumers to start using AT&T.
Over the years a number of computer virus protection programs like McAfee, Avira, Avast and Symantec have been developed and used by computer users. However, there is always a snag that no program can give you 100 percent protection and there is bound to be some kind of loop where it falters.
