Many people using computers and Internet do not believe in investing computer security solutions because they think that the moment they upgrade, they open their systems to hackers and other malicious software floating in cyberspace. |
However, this is not true. There is a need to have adequate security and should any breach take there are ways of reporting computer security violations. The way to report a security violation is directly to the systems administrator whose duty it is to oversee the smooth functioning of the systems. A systems administrator is also responsible for ensuring that all computer security protocols are followed and adhered to, even by you.
At some time or the other you will be faced with computer security violation. This is a foregone conclusion. You should not panic. You should log off from the Internet, close all browsers, disconnect the LAN or WAN and immediately resort to reporting computer security violations to your systems administrator. The ball then lies in the administrator's court and he or she has to take up the cudgel to deal with the problem.
A systems administrator is equipped with the necessary experience and tools to ensure that your system has all the required defenses to combat any security violations. It is also his or her responsibility to upgrade the security regularly. It is not possible to have computer security that this completely impenetrable. You have to be realistic about your expectations when having security measures installed. Of course, the more modern the security measures, the less chance of security violations; but the threat is always present.
