Recover Data From Overwritten Hard Drive
It might be possible that you have gone ahead and erased your hard drive without actually meaning to, and then you go ahead and overwrite the hard drive. Suddenly you realize that you have forgotten to take backup of your hard drive and need programs that were on it urgently. What do you do? You will immediately start looking for ways to recover data from overwritten hard drive. |
Unfortunately if you have overwritten the complete hard drive, it will not be possible for you to recover your data. However, if the hard drive is just partially overwritten, from the unwritten part of the hard drive it is possible to recover your data.
Usually when you erase your hard drive, the files are not actually erased. They are just not made available for the computer to read them. This means that although you erase data from your hard drive, it is still on your hard drive but you cannot actually see it.
One way of recovering your data from the hard drive is to go to your Recycle Bin and restore the program. The other alternative that many people use is a data recovery software. There are many free software programs that are available so that you can recover lost data without breaking into sweat. All you need to do is download the software on your hard drive, an external one is preferable as this will ensure that you do not overwrite any more information. Install the software and then follow the directions to retrieve the lost data from your hard drive.
The other method is to look at all the backups you have and then select system restore so that you can get back the data you have lost. However, this method does not work always so be careful.
