The microprocessor or the processor is the most powerful IC chip on which many functions are incorporated. They are known as the brain and heart of the computer which is made in the form of a chip and the efficiency of it depends completely on the speed of the processing, this is found through its frequency and denoted by using gigahertz. We all know that the higher the speed, the better the function and there are various types of processors like 32-bit, 64-bit and these bits have nothing to do with the speed but it means that the higher the bit-rate, the processor can do different computing processes all at one time.
Another important terminology of the computer and hardware is the motherboard and it is nothing but a platform where all other components are electrically fitted. The last few years have seen a number of developments with additional functions like graphics card, sound card and networking card are attached to the motherboard. Hard disk and RAM are the other terminology in computer hardware.
A computer has two types of memory -- one is permanent and the other is the random access memory (RAM), which gets erased once the system is shut down.
The other computer, hardware terminologies are the peripherals like the mouse, keyboard, monitor, DVD or CD drive or writer, webcam, speakers etc.
