If you usually store a lot of data, then you will need to a larger hard disk. Some computers can support two to three hard disks that can be installed in the same computer.
An external hard disk is an external device that can be connected to your computer. Any device capable of storage acts as a hard disk. However, an external hard disk has a lot of space and it can be connected to the computer and accessed instantly. You can access all your files from the hard disk and use it as a back up or additional storage. There are several uses for it. Sometimes, when the computer crashes, the data on the hard disk is entirely lost and the computer does not boot. Usually when this happens, people use a CD or a floppy drive which acts as a back up device to boot. However, you can also use an external hard drive to boot the system, by loading the operating system and the files on to it. You need the boot disk stored on the external hard drive.
