Birth Evolution Of The Internet
Internet which is highly popular in the modern times has not always been the same. It has gone through a long journey of changes which ultimately led to the position that it holds today. The very first form of internet that was developed long back was quite different from what is being used by people today. Internet has undergone several changes and has thus encountered several different stages throughout its evolution. Several modifications have been added to internet since its beginning. |
The first type of internet was ARPANET which came out as a result of the studies undertaken by ARPA which is basically a research organization formed by Eisenhower. The basic motive behind the founding of this organization was to offer a potential platform to all the scientists, researchers, and the university students to come together with some solutions regarding a better command as well as control network. Then there came up a technique which was invented by Wesley Clark, a research scientist. The main concept included connecting several computers in order to form subnet.
Then during the 1980s, several other computers were also connected to this initial ARPANET, thus the entire network was getting broader and started covering almost the whole of the United States. The whole network started to be implemented with the help of ARPANET as the hardware being used along with different software. Thus the whole network started to be called as NSFNET. Then in the 1990s, internet began to be used by people associated with academics as well as research. Thus a new technique called the World Wide Web came into existence and this slowly acquired a much successful position that people see and use today.
