Computer network management jobs are highly specialized jobs that offer a good pay. A network jobs requires considerable training and the primary role would be to ensure smooth functioning of the network.

A network management job can be in any one of the following categories:

  • Network Engineer -- An engineer is responsible for installing and maintaining computer networks, both inside an organization and also between organizations. They must ensure that communication between networks is smooth and must also ensure proper system performance and availability.
  • Network Programmer -- A network programmer is responsible for writing software programs that help in analyzing the network. They can create diagnostic or monitoring tools that check the way the system works. They check out any new technologies that have come out and find how they can be integrated into the network.
  • Network Technician -- A network technician is responsible for setting up network hardware and implementing software necessary to run the network. They are also called in to troubleshoot network problem and repair issues that arise with network hardware and software.
  • Network Administrator -- A network administrator is someone who carries out activities related to network administration. These include analyzing network performance, configuring various hardware and software, and installing new hardware to the network. Network performance is to be monitored on a daily basis and network security is to be maintained.
